On September 13, in the United States, the global weekly magazine Newsweek announced its “World’s Best Specialized Hospitals” rankings for 2024, both online and offline. In this survey spanning 12 categories, Samsung Comprehensive Cancer Center ranked fifth in the world and secured the top spot in Asia for the second consecutive year, earning a place in the “Global Top 5.”
Since its establishment in 2008 as Asia’s largest single-building cancer center, the center has consistently achieved world-class results in the fields of cancer treatment, including CAR-T cell therapy, precision cancer treatment, multidisciplinary approach with molecular targeted drugs, and proton therapy. Furthermore, the cancer center has published the “Outcomes Book” on cancer treatment, sharing its excellence and expertise with the public. These achievements span surgery, radiation therapy, and chemotherapy.
Additionally, the cancer center was ranked 25th in the world in the “World’s Best Smart Hospitals” ranking and stands as the top-ranked hospital in Korea for the third consecutive year. Its global ranking also climbed by five positions.
The cancer center’s level of digital healthcare innovation has received international recognition, with multiple acknowledgments of its global leadership. Notably, on April 20, it achieved the world’s first “Triple Crown” by obtaining Stage 7, the highest rating, in three areas certified by the United States Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS): Infrastructure Adoption Model (INFRAM), Digital Imaging Adoption Model (DIAM), and Electronic Medical Record Adoption Model (EMRAM).
