Ahnkang Hospital, Asan Medical Center, JK Plastic Surgery Center, and K-Medical Expanding to the Middle East with Qatar Korea Medical Center Opening  Four Korean medical institutions, including Ahnkang Hospital, Asan Medical Center, and JK Plastic Surgery Center, jointly announced the opening ceremony of the Qatar Korea Medical Center (KMC) in Doha, Qatar, on June 10.These institutions will participate in KMC, a state-of-the-art 10-story, 40,000-square-meter specialized clinic center. Each will commence services sequentially. Initially, Ahnkang Hospital will offer treatment and rehabilitation for chronic spinal and joint (musculoskeletal) pain, while JK Plastic Surgery Center will start cosmetic surgery, aesthetics, anti-aging, and stem cell treatments. Subsequently, Asan Medical Center will open with large-scale stem cell production facilities, an orthopedic department, and an infertility center.The establishment of KMC is the culmination of long-term efforts for Korean medical expansion abroad. The joint entry of these institutions into Qatar signifies the recognition of Korean medical excellence. Ahnkang Hospital received direct support from the Korea Health Industry Development Institute after being selected for last year's 'Project Support Program,' facilitating KMC's opening.This initiative represents a new model for joint overseas expansion of specialized medical institutions. KMC will function as a platform, potentially enhancing opportunities for related industries such as Korean medical equipment, consumables, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, diagnostics, and health checkups to enter the market together. An official from the Korea Health Industry Development Institute stated, "KMC will elevate the status of Korean medical services in the Middle Eastern market, traditionally dominated by the U.S. and Europe, by enhancing awareness and recognition of Korean medical excellence.
