Seoul St. Mary’s Hospital of the Catholic University has successfully performed a heart surgical operation named ‘Double outlet right ventricle.’ A twenty-four-month-old baby, Zia Me Vanjuelra does not have an anus since birth. She also suffers from cyanosis resulting from oxygen-poor blood in her body. She could not receive a proper treatment because her family was poor. As soon as her news was out, Seoul St. Mary’s Hospital selected her as a 16th medical charity program’s beneficiary sponsored by Korea Healthcare Industry Development Institute(KHIDI). Thus she was given free surgery by Seoul St. Mary’s Hospital and was supported round-trip air and living expense by KHIDI. Dr.Chul Lee said “Narrow blood vessels was being widened and the hole in the heart was closed. The surgery was successfully performed.” The hospital plans to operate on her anus. GMA Network Inc., the private broadcasting system of the Philippine is making a documentary about her.
