Dr. Shao Li Ding (34) from China completed her training at Wonkwang University Hospital (President: Du Young Choi) and returned home. Dr. Shao Li Ding’s five-week training session was part of the Medical Korea Academy sponsored by the Korea Health Industry Development Institute (KHIDI). The Medical Korea Academy is a project managed by KHIDI with the purpose of introducing Korea’s advanced medical service to the world and to expand the networks with other medical institutions around the globe. Wonkwang University Hospital, which has continued its efforts to lead the K-wave in medicine and attract international patients, was among the first institutions to join the project. Dr. Shao Li Ding who is currently working in Gansu Provincial Hospital in China received a clinincal training on anathesia of the central nervous system and peripheral nerves at the Department of of Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine at Wonkwang University Hospital. An official at the International Health Care Center at Wonkwang University Hospital commented that “Our hospital continues to provide training to international medical staff and thanks to our endeavor, there is an alumni meeting of our trainees in Mongolia. We hope that our strengthened relationship with medical institutions overseas would lead to an influx in international patients in the future.”
