On January 28th, Seoul National University Bundang Hospital-SK Telecom-EZ Care Tech Consortium announced its successful establishmentt of the Bestcare 2.0, an electronic medical record system, for the King Abdulaziz Medical City-Riyadh (KAMC-R). The KAMC-R is one of the top university hospitals in Saudi Arabia and is equipped with the largest emergency & trauma center among the Middle East. It owns 1,300 beds in wards and 30 different specialised clinics. There used to be a lot of concerns when the Bestcare 2.0 was being established for the KAMC-R since it had to be installed after the existing EMR, a totally different system from the new one, was clearly transferred to the Bestcare 2.0. Also, it must follow international standard protocols with a perfect English-Arabic Language Interface provided for hospital staff. Despite these worries, the Consortium proved its excellent technology and skilled manpower by finishing the project. Hwang Hee, Head of the Medical Information Center, Seoul National University Bundang Hospital, said that 'The Bestcare 2.0 is not a simple Electronic Medical Record System but a comprehensive digial tool since it is offers advanced digital technology for virtualization, a cloud computing, a mobile technology, big data analysis, individual health record, and clinical decision support system. These advantages will cause positive effects on future business.'
