  The collaboration between  live and kidney transplant team at PNUYH has resulted in first successful combined liver and kidney transplant in Busan and South Gyeongsang Province Korea. The patient was in his 50s who had liver cirrhosis, and his condition became life-threatening situationto the development of hepatorenal syndrome in which the kidney function deteriorates as the liver function worsen. The operation went very smoothly, and the patient and discharged within three weeks after the operation by the dedicated treatment and efforts of the medical staff. With the well-established medical environment, the liver transplant team can perform not only liver transplantation but also emergency liver transplantation in brain death. The high-quality medical services with extensive experience lead the low mortality rates and low incidence of postoperative complications. In addition, foreign patients such as New Zealand, Mongolia, Ethiopia, and Uzbekistan have been successfully transplanted of liver. Overseas doctors (of Vietnam, Indonesia, Myanmar, Russia, Kazakhstan and Ghana which) are continuously visiting and studying for liver transplantation and the team visits  Indonesia and Mongolia that require advanced medical technology to transfer technology directly.
