A systemic approach to welcoming foreign patients by Sejong Hospital has received the spotlight. Sejong Hospital is an undisputedly friendly hospital for foreign patients that achieved the triple crown of medical institution certification for the first time in Korea.
According to Sejong Hospital on Dec. 26, the Ministry of Health and Welfare recently granted the Korean Accreditation Program for Hospitals Serving Foreign Patients (KAHF) to Bucheon Sejong Hospital and Incheon Sejong Hospital following due diligence. KAHF is a program that evaluates and certifies medical institutions that provide excellent services and treatment environments to foreign patients, and Sejong Hospital received outstanding ratings in each of the relevant categories.
Previously, Sejong Hospital has been certified by an international medical institution evaluation committee, the Joint Commission International (JCI), and a domestic medical institution evaluation certification for acute care hospitals, etc., thereby establishing itself as a safe and reliable hospital for both domestic and foreign patients.
Dr. Park Jin-sik, the chairman of the board of Sejong Hospital of the Hyeon Medical Foundation, said that "there is no national boundary for healthcare. Providing high-quality medical services to foreign patients gives a positive image not only of Sejong Hospital, but also of Korea." He added, “Sejong Hospital has been further building up its medical system by treating not only domestic but also foreign patients for decades. We will continue to provide the best medical services to domestic and foreign patients by dedicating all our capabilities.”
