Korea International Medical Association Signs Memorandum of Understanding with Chinese Non-government Medical Institutions Association to Strengthen Cooperation in the Health and Medical Sector

On March 14th, during the "Medical Korea 2024" period at COEX, KIMA signed a memorandum of understanding with the Chinese Non-government Medical Institutions Association (CNMIA) to enhance cooperation in the health and medical sector with China. Established in 2014, CNMIA is an organization comprised of private medical institutions, non-profit organizations, and social groups in China, managing approximately 650,000 medical institutions, which accounts for 67% of all healthcare facilities in the country. This agreement includes various cooperation items aimed at the development of the international medical sector between the two countries, such as △activating exchange and education programs for experts from both nations, △ increasing the international influence of both organizations in the global health and medical field, and △ supporting mutual areas of interest according to bilateral agreements. KIMA Chairman Kim, Young Tae expressed, "Through this agreement, we anticipate building a cooperation network with China in the post-COVID era, serving as a cooperative partner in Korean medical institutions' entry into the Chinese market and attracting Chinese patients. Additionally, through the Korean Chinese exchange and cooperation in the health and medical sector, we look forward to expanding and developing global business and fulfilling our role as a leading private representative body in the global healthcare sector."
